As a game that was designed to be as socially interactive as possible, Fortnite is much more enjoyable when played with friends. But, what if none of your friends play Fortnite? Fortunately, Epic Games has revamped the Refer a Friend system to reward both you and any friends you might convince to play the game—giving you the perfect opportunity to turn your Solo matches into Squad matches!
How to Sign up for Fortnite Refer a Friend
This first step to referring a friend in Fortnite is to make sure you are in-game friends with the person you wish to refer. Then, sign up or log in to the Refer a Friend website with your Epic account. After logging in, the site outlines how you and your friend can earn experience in-game and points for the Refer a Friend system by playing and completing quests together. Select the friends you'd like to play with based on the qualifications listed below.
Fortnite Refer a Friend Qualifications
In order for you and your friend to qualify to earn points, they must have less than 120 minutes of playtime in a core Battle Royale game mode (Solos, Duos, Trios, Squads, and the Zero Build versions of them) within the last 30 days. The system is set up this way to not only encourage new players to join, but also to inspire veteran players who haven't played in a while to renew their interest in the game.
Refer a Friend Rewards
The points you earn while playing together will be accumulated and unlock specific rewards after meeting the necessary thresholds. As an added incentive for joining Refer a Friend, you can complete the following tasks to earn their respective rewards:
- Connect with a friend: rewards a Spray.
- Play one game with your friend: rewards a Wrap.
- Place Top 10 at least six times with your friend: rewards a Back Bling.
- Eliminate 45 opponents with your friend: rewards a Pickaxe.
- Gain 60 Levels on your own and have your friend gain 60 Levels: rewards the Xander Outfit.
That's all there is to know about the new Fortnite Refer a Friend!
