Premium Allround Rackets at Tennis-Point

Being the most popular kind of racket among tennis players, manufacturers construct their allround rackets with great care. They need to tailor sporty as well as comfort features to the preferences of hobby players. However, brands do not have to invent the racket from scratch. Usually, they twist their tour models a little when manufacturing an allround racket: they reduce weight, enlarge the hitting surface, and use materials, which absorb impacts effectively. In the end, club players rarely step on the court more than once or twice a week and therefore have not trained their tennis muscles as well as team and tour players.

Features of an Allround Racket

Allroundschläger

When it comes to colours and shape, allround rackets closely resemble the respective manufacturers' tour models. Yet, there are technical features that distinguish allround rackets to facilitate choosing the right model. In our shop, we have a separate section for allround rackets. There, you can search your favourite brand while using the following most important distinguishing features:

  • Allround racket length

Like any other racket, you will find allround rackets with a standard length between 680 and 690 millimetres. There are a few longer models. However, we do not recommend them for hobby players because they enhance your range and power but are harder to control.

  • Allround racket weight

To not put too much strain on your hitting arm, allround rackets are real lightweights compared to pro frames. Without stringing, they do not weigh more than 300 grams, at the same time, never less than 260 grams. Being that light, they make your strokes easier. A characteristic, especially average players who usually have shorter strokes, benefit from.

  • Allround racket hitting surface

If you place an allround racket on top of a tour model, you immediately realise that the hitting surface is slightly bigger. That enhances the "sweet spot," meaning the stringing's part, with which you preferably hit the ball. The bigger body also helps you accelerate the ball if you haven't hit accurately. Therefore, an allround racket's hitting surface measures between 95 and 105 inches or 613 to 677 square centimetres.

  • Allround racket balance

A racket's balance tells you whether it is heavier towards the head or the grip. However, most allround rackets are "balanced," therefore, they are neither head nor grip heavy. This setup gives you more control, which works well for allround players, who neither hit too hard nor need a constant feel for, for example, volleys.

  • Allround racket frame profile

"Frame profile" stands for a frame's thickness. The thicker, hence, the wider the frame, the more comfortable the racket. If a frame is too wide, though, you sacrifice control while accelerating more. To provide you with the right balance, allround rackets choose the middle way and, therefore, a frame profile between 23 and 27 millimetres.

Facilitate your Racket Selection: the Tennis-Point Racket Advisor

So many models, only one pick. Finding the right racket sounds like a lot of effort. It does not have to be. By using our racket advisor, you can pick your allround racket a lot more quickly. First, you enter parameters that describe your style of play. Our database then compares your information with the features of every racket we sell in our Tennis-Point shop and identifies models that fit your style of play perfectly within seconds. This is your direct path to our racket advisor.

If you would like to know more about tennis rackets, here, you find an overview of features that distinguish tennis rackets and should influence your final decision.

Tip: The best environment to find the perfect racket? The court. There, you can perform a few forehand and backhand strokes with your potential new racket. You serve, you volley, and see how it feels. To do so, you simply have to visit our "test racket" section. There, you may order several rackets at once to make a direct comparison. Later, when you buy your new racket, the test racket fee will be credited to the purchase price. Thereby, you do not take any risk if you compare different rackets on the court before making your final decision. (Die “Testschläger”-Seite hab ich auf der internationalen Seite nicht gefunden, den Abschnitt zur Sicherheit trotzdem übersetzt)

If you would like to pick your new allround racket straight from your favourite brand, we offer models by the following manufacturers:
