i came for a glimpse at the list of future offerings but instead I find 4 months of previous gifts listed. why do you hate gamers?
We’d be happy to list any games they plan to make available in the free store! Unfortunately, this is the only information Epic provides, and it’s not actually possible to see what’s coming until they release the information. Do you have a source for the information Epic doesn’t release? Because I’ll certainly add it!
Thursday at 10am! what part of the world does that happen as I have been reading a few things on google that says it happens at 4pm in my part of the world.
Hey, nice catch! That’s 10am CT (in North America). I updated the guide to say that.
The Daemon X Machina “Prototype Arsenal Set” is also currently free. I assume this free DLC expires February 3 as well (the “Metallic Equipment Set” and “Arsenal Decals – The Brushstrokes of Souun Takeda” DLC are always free).
Hey, why the list is borked? it was all about every game that was given away for free on epic. Now it’s only a shadow of it past self
We actually cut the list by a significant amount because it was causing major issues with loading for some users and the writers editing it. If we can find a way to include all the previous content that doesn’t bog down the page, we’ll consider it. Until then, we figured it didn’t serve a major purpose to have content from more than three months ago since it’s essentially information that doesn’t have a practical use.
Hi Pro Game Guides!
Your Creator Code ProGameGs has NOT been working for some time now.
And thanks for the great work here!
Thanks for letting us know about this! I’ll speak to the editors and see how we want to handle this.
Hi, when list will be updated? There are new games on epic free list
This list gets updated every Thursday at 11am ET when the free games refresh on Epic Games Store. Are there any that we missed from last week?
You’ve removed too much, not just the Avon Colony that was incorrectly said to be available this week… Speed Brawl and Tharsis should’ve stayed. π
Also, a correction for Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition : it was for the Feb. 11 to Feb. 18 week.
And about Sludge Life… i’ve had it available via the “show more” button since at least Oct 30, 2020… and for me it ended on May 28, not Apr 28. :-B
Hello! That was actually me that added the Aven Colony game, sorry about that! They originally had it on the list instead of The Escapists, but then removed it after I updated the page. Believe me, I was plenty frustrated when I saw that they changed it, haha. As for Speed Brawl and Tharsis being removed, I’m not sure what happened there. I’ll have to fix that; thanks for noticing!
I originally redeemed Alien: Isolation when it was free on December 21. It didn’t include the Last Survivor DLC at that time (I believe the Last Survivor DLC was 75% off instead). When Alien: Isolation went back on free offer on April 22, Alien: Isolation showed as owned for me, and the Last Survivor DLC was not available for free. I checked again today, and this time I was allowed to claim the game again, which got me the Last Survivor DLC for free. I’m not the only one who’s encountered this (e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/mx1ni9/epic_alien_isolation_last_survivor_dlc_100_off/gvlgcqg/). If anyone already had Alien: Isolation from December and hasn’t checked EGS since early in the day April 22, check to see if you are missing the Last Survivor DLC. If so, you can still claim it before April 29, 11 AM EDT.
well well well.. look how many games i missed
same
Actually it says Jurassic World Evolution is free until January 7th for a week, not 24 hours
Cheers!
Thanks for keeping it updated!
Next will be the long dark
Is that your prediction?
Wrapper hints next game
The long dark
What do you think tomorrow’s will be?
Borderlands ?
That would be awesome!
Nope π what do you think tommorows is ?
Tomorrow’s got me stumped! Something to do with axes… what do you think?
The wrapper on the game has a symbol hinting the next game. You can predict the next one like last year π
Very cool. What do you think tomorrow’s will be?
Great work on this site, kept me coming back for the updates, I have most of the games but one I missed was Assassins Creed syndicate…….aaaarrrrrrrhhhhhh so mad I missed it by 2hrs, still nags at me now, AC games are in my all time top 10.
A Total War Saga: TROY will be free tomorrow August 13th for 24 hours, just a BTW
Added now, thanks.
man they really canceled the escapists 2 huh. either way im excited for conan exiles!
ugh… conan exiles has been cancelled.
It should hopefully come out at some point in the future.
Hello! Can I ask you? Is it possible to tell if Subnautica will be free again? Or if Subnautica Below Zero will be free for some time too? Thank you. Have a nice day!
Games haven’t returned too often, so I’m not sure if the original Subnautica will be available again for free. It’s usually older games that end up being free, so I don’t think Below Zero will be free anytime soon.
Thank you so much for updating this list, you are doing god’s work
I believe I’ve claimed all the free games on EGS thus far (including normally free-to-play titles), and I thank Epic Games and publishers for the freebies, but I believe the routine freebies will eventually come to an end, either beginning 2021, 2022, or maybe even as late as 2023 (although I think EGS will continue to offer the occasional freebie after that time, just as the Humble Store, GOG, etc. do on occasion), or otherwise there will be more repeats (thus far, only Celeste and Overcooked have repeated). But when I evaluate EGS on the merits (beyond free games and $10 coupons), the Epic Games Launcher and EGS are not progressing as well as I had hoped (not even close). I think Origin is a substandard launcher and store; having said that, in terms of feature set, I find even Origin launcher/Origin.com comparatively better than Epic Games Launcher/EGS at present.
I wish Epic Games had chosen to compete with Steam and other services via:
1) A well-designed, full-featured launcher and store experience. E.g. While the EGS catalog is far less crowded than Steam (and I think there is an argument to be made in favor of store curation), discoverability on EGS is actually pretty shoddy.
2) Working with publishers to lower list prices. E.g. Despite Epic’s more favorable revenue split, many games on EGS are normally priced the same as they are on Steam and other stores (e.g. Borderlands 3 is normally $59.99 regardless of where you buy it); i.e. the better revenue split doesn’t usually result in lower list prices for customers.
3) Working with publishers for better sales pricing. E.g. Despite Epic’s more favorable revenue split, many games on EGS have the same (pre-coupon) sale prices as they do elsewhere; i.e. none of it is usually passed on to the customer in the form of lower (pre-coupon) sale prices. Where Epic Games is making a positive impact are the $10 Epic Coupons, and I hope the coupons continue on indefinitely for every future sale, but that is coming out of Epic’s pocket, most publishers aren’t lowering their sale prices on EGS despite the revenue split.
4) A better refund policy. Given its willingness to leverage its deep pockets, Epic Games is in a position to allay publisher reservations with regard to a more customer-friendly refund policy (something better than 2 hours of play time), yet EGS is not standing out from the crowd in this regard.
As it stands, I grab the freebies on EGS, but I have yet to purchase anything. The primary reason is the Epic Games Launcher. I am not opposed to having multiple launchers on my computer. I tend to be opposed to publisher-centric launchers (e.g. Rockstar Games Launcher), but I already had multiple launchers installed prior to the birth of the Epic Games Launcher, and having multiple publisher-agnostic launchers installed is not an important consideration to me, particularly when I can use one launcher as a meta-launcher. Feature set, however, is important to me. The Epic Games Launcher is just not competitive in this regard, nor do I like the browsing experience on EGS.
Another reason I have not purchased anything on EGS is somewhat similar to the Osborne effect, except instead of deferring a purchase due to the prospect of a future product, I find that I am more reluctant to invest funds in a product that may later be given away for free. To be clear, this doesn’t keep me from buying games I am really interested in (although, again, I currently prefer a couple of other launchers over the Epic Games Launcher based on feature set, and I am willing to wait a year if I am forced to by EGS-exclusivity deals in order to use those other launchers), but it does keep me from buying games that I am less confident about but that I might otherwise have taken a chance on (and not just on EGS, but on other stores where the games are sold). Having more than two hours (preferably at least five hours) of play time within two weeks of purchase on EGS to refund a game would likely resolve this consideration.
EPIC is focus on giving away games but lacks of interest of building a gamer’s community. The crackwatch even doing this lot better than epic.
^Forgot Hyper Light Drifter. It has also repeated as a freebie.
Here I was hoping to get ARK for free…
Instead we get a minigame… IΒ΄ll pass on this week.
ark was free 2 weeks ago. didn’t you claim it?
Overcooked is very fun with friends. Why would you pass on a free game?
i mean its not really that fun if u dont have friends to play with and the 2nd one is better
Does anyone know if there’s any chance some of these games might be free again at some point for those of us that missed it? I can live without most of them since im not really into puzzle games/platformers/horror but ones like Kingdom Come, GTA 5, and Arkham would be great.
This week’s game, Overcooked, is also a returnee. That was previously available eleven months ago.
There is only one game that has returned; Celeste came back on the 12 days of free games.
It doesn’t seem likely that any will return.
Cant believe i found out about this one day after gta v expired…
I only knew about the free games from a friend when gta came out, sad i missed out on more than a years worth of this ;-;
Gta was my first game and next borderlands I missed all the games including those games of which I am a die heart fan :'(
I missed couple of games. The worst was subnautica I missed. Other than that I missed no AAA games so that’s good. Also as I have build like a 102 games collection I had purchased 7 games for 52 dollars with 3 games having gold edition and 1 deluxe. Epic games is such great store for us consumers. I just love them for listening to budget gamers.
Next AAA games probably:
Civilization VI – May 21. – May 28.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection – May 28. – June 4.
Ark: Survival Evolved – June 4. – June 11.
spot on
Started collecting from the beginning – back in dec 2018 – have all the free games π
You are lucky man I have just got borderlands and gta5 for that also because I heard the news of gta 5 and created an account.
And I also wanted fs 19 but the time is gone π’
thats great! i was hoping i knew this right when they were giving away Subnautica. I first stumbled upon Epic on my birthday which is in 4th of april last year π
GTA v is the first time I heard about all these free games, I’m so sad I missed out on everything :(((((
I am with you bro same happened to meπ’
aww im sorry don’t worry Epic has no signs of stopping π
I didn’t even know Epic games did this I wish I had cuz GTA’s the first game I have
that’s alright Epic isn’t stopping any soon π
i missed everything before the arkham and lego batman stuff then some other like hello neighbor that wasnt there on my epic fsr but yeah
