Plovdiv – European Capital of Culture 2019


Nestling in the south part of Bulgaria, Plovdiv is a leading cultural, religious, wine and shopping destination which never fails to reveal exciting, new facets of its character.


With its 8-millennia history, Plovdiv has been proclaimed the oldest continuously-inhabited city in Europe and the 6-th oldest in the world. Attend an event at the Ancient Theatre

Plovdiv is proud of having one of the biggest and most impressive open-air stages which dates from 2nd century - the Ancient theatre. Apart from a perfectly-preserved cultural monument, it is a venue of the top concerts and annual festivals, such as the Opera Open festival, the International Folklore Festival, the rock festival Sounds of ages and others.

Enjoy the special dance of the “Singing Fountains” in Tsar Simeon’s Garden  

The Tsar Simeon's Garden is an excellent place to end a good day, especially during the summer. The garden is ideal area for a walk, with various walkways, splendid fountains and flowers. Make the evening even more romantic by going to the Lake with the Singing fountains – the most beautiful place to visit after sunset, when a real fairy of light and music starts.
